Pengerusi BN, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak berkata jika dibuat perbandingan antara janji pembangkang yang mahu kurangkan harga minyak dan pemberian Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) - bantuan yang diberikan kerajaan itu lebih baik dan menguntungkan rakyat.

"Kita kurangkan (harga) minyak siapa untung? Orang kaya yang untung. Orang kaya yang bawa kereta besar pun untung. Pekerja asing pun untung.

"Bila kita bagi BR1M siapa untung? Rakyat yang untung. Sekarang ini kita dapat lima keping (wang kertas RM100). Ada yang ketaq lutut orang Kedah kata.

"Bila dapat BR1M bukan sahaja rakyat untung tapi pekedai untung, peniaga pasar tani, pasar minggu pun untung.

"Ekonomi semakin berkembang," katanya yang disambut sorakan oleh kira-kira 1,000 hadirin.

Najib yang juga pengerusi tiba di perkarangan Dataran Umno, Gerbang Malam, Bagan Serai dari Kuala Kangsar, Perak bagi menghadiri program Himpunan Rakyat 1Malaysia. Selepas itu, Najib akan meneruskan sesi jelajahnya ke Sungai Bayor, Selama, Perak.

Turut hadir dalam program itu ialah Pengerusi BN Perak Datuk Seri Zambry Kader dan juga calon bagi Parlimen Bagan Serai, Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali.

Selain itu, dalam program itu juga, Najib turut menyeru kepada orang ramai agar menunaikan janji kepada kerajaan dengan mengundi BN pada 5 Mei nanti.

"Saya sudah tunaikan janji saya pada tuan-tuan, bila masa tuan-tuan tunaikan janji pada saya?" soal Najib dengan menerima sorakan "5 Mei" oleh hadirin.

Ahad lalu, dalam siri jelajah Pakatan Harapan Rakyat, Ketua Umum PKR menjadikan janji untuk menurunkan harga minyak sebagai modal utama berkempen di Perak.

Anwar yang berucap di lapan kawasan palimen Perak berkata akan menurunkan harga minyak pada 7 Mei sekiranya Pakatan berjaya menawan Putrajaya.

Sementara itu, dalam program Himpunan Rakyat 1Malaysia di perkarangan Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Bayor, Selama, Perak, Najib turut mengambil kesempatan dengan menyelar tindakan pembangkan yang mengadakan himpunan BERSIH.

Beliau berkata, tindakan pembangkang yang mengadakan sehingga tiga himpunan BERSIH tidak mendatangkan faedah berbanding dengan pemberian BR1M oleh kerajaan.

"Pembangkang buat (himpunan) BERSIH 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 tak ada faedah. Pembangkang buat BERSIH 1, saya lawan dengan BR1M 1. Mereka buat BERSIH 2, saya lawan dengan BR1M 2.

"Ini adalah kerajaan yang mendahulukan rakyat," katanya.
