Najib receives courtesy call from Kelantan MB – Bernama

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today received a courtesy call from Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob at his office in Perdana Putra, in Putrajaya.

Met by reporters after the 45-minute visit, Ahmad said it was his first courtesy call, as the new Kelantan menteri besar, on the prime minister.

He said among the matters discussed during the meeting was on various assistance that the Federal Government could channel to the state government.

"These involve infrastructure and other things for the well-being of the people," said Ahmad, adding that political issues were not discussed during the meeting.

Ahmad arrived at the Perdana Putra building at about 9am together with a number of Kelantan state executive council members.

He was accompanied by International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, who is also Kelantan Umno liaison chief, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa into the prime minister's office.

Ahmad took his oath of office as Kelantan menteri besar on May 6, replacing Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat who held the post for 23 years. - Bernama, November 28, 2013.
