Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak telah mengesahkan beliau tidak menandatangani perjanjian pendamaian dengan Pakatan Rakyat (PR) yang dibroker oleh bekas naib presiden Indonesia Jusuf Kalla, mengatakan beliau perlu mendapatkan persetujuan pemimpin Umno lain dan ianya mengambil masa panjang.

Dalam wawancara bersama majalah Tempo dari Indonesia, beliau mengatakan, walaupun tiada perjanjian diantaranya untuk PR dan Barisan Nasional (BN) menerima keputusan pilihan raya 5 Mei dan memastikan peralihan kuasa secara aman jika pembangkang menang, beliau komited kepadanya.

Najib mengatakan pendamaian masih boleh dilakukan tetapi hanya jika Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (gambar) menerima keputusan pilihan raya. Berita mengenai perjanjian itu menjadi pengetahuan umum apabila ianya dibocorkan kepada akhbar antarabangsa beberapa hari selepas pilihan raya sengit menyaksikan BN mengekalkan kuasa dengan majoriti lebih kecil tanpa undi popular.

Anwar dan PR berada dalam keadaan tertekan berikutan daripada pendedahan perjanjian untuk menerima keputusan pilihan raya itu.

Akan tetapi ketua pembangkang itu mengatakan perjanjian itu tidak sah kerana terdapat penipuan besar-besaran dalam pilihan raya dan Najib tidak menandatanganinya.

Tempo mengatakan idea untuk perjanjian pendamaian itu berlaku sekitar akhir April, sebelum Malaysia mengadakan pilihan raya umum ke 13. Anwar melawat Kalla di rumahnya di Jakarta dan membangkitkan kemungkinan untuk mengakhiri ketegangan selepas pilihan raya di Malaysia. Anwar meminta Kalla untuk menjadi pengantara dengan Najib. Tempo mengatakan Kalla dan Najib rapat kerana latarbelakang Bugis mereka.

Pada ketika itu, Anwar yakin PR akan menang pilihan raya itu. Tempo mengatakan isu pendamaian timbul kembali dua minggu lalu selepas pertemuan Anwar dan Najib dengan Kalla.

Apakah iklim politik Malaysia terlalu panas sehingga anda perlu bermain golf di Jakarta?

Saya masih belum berehat selepas pilihan raya. Secara kebetulan, isteri saya mempunyai acara untuk dihadirinya, jadi saya dapat datang bersama dan bermain golf, bertemu rakan-rakan lama dan memerhatikan bagaimana pembangunan telah berlaku. Hubungan dengan Indonesia penting dan banyak isu boleh diselesaikan secara tidak formal.

Apakah itu sebabnya anda bertemu Jusuf Kalla? Dilaporkan anda berdua main golf di Halim.

Semasa saya memegang jawatan timbalan perdana menteri, Jusuf Kalla adalah naib presiden. Kami rakan sejawatan dan mempunyai latarbelakang sama. Dia Bugis dan saya Bugis. Isteri kami kedua-dua Minang (berasal dari Sumatera Barat). Sepanjang banyak lawatan, kebanyakannya secara tidak rasmi, kami berkomunikasi. Kali ini kami main golf bersama.

Bukankah Jusuf Kalla cuba menjadi pengantara diantara anda dan Anwar Ibrahim?

Apakah syarat kepada perjanjian ini?

Pertama, keputusan pilihan raya mesti diterima. Anwar Ibrahim sudah menandatangani surat komitmen di hadapan Kalla. Tetapi setakat ini, Anwar masih belum menerima keputusan pilihan raya secara rasmi.

Kami dengar anda enggan menandatangani surat itu.

Sebagai presiden parti (Umno), saya perlu mendapatkan persetujuan daripada pemimpin parti sebelum saya menandatanganinya. Prosesnya panjang, tetapi saya kekal komited [kepada perjanjian]. Pada ketika itu Pak Jusuf Kalla kata, sebagai seorang Bugis, kita harus mempunyai integriti. Kata-kata kita adalah janji. Itu adalah prinsip orang Bugis.

Apakah ini bermaksud anda masih mahukan pendamaian?

Mereka mesti terlebih dahulu menerima keputusan pilihan raya. Itu adalah keutamaan perjanjian dan Anwar sendiri telah tandatangan. Kita terus memerhatikan perkembangannya. – 26 Jun, 2013.
