Nirvana ready to receive remains of MH17 crash victims – Bernama

Nirvana (NV) Multi Asia, the company assigned to manage the remains of the five non-Muslim victims of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 tragedy, scheduled to arrive today, has made thorough preparations to perform the task.

Its group managing director Datuk David Kong said they had begun the work to receive the remains a few days ago.

"Twenty Nirvana staff will be directly involved in the prayer session, while 50 others will be ready if needed for assistance," he told Bernama yesterday.

He said they had also prepared a special room to accommodate about 300 people along with an LCD screen on the second floor of the premises for the convenience of family members and next-of-kin of the victims to witness the ceremony.

Kong said the funeral arrangements for the victims of the MH17 tragedy were the most challenging task for him to date.

He also advised the media to be careful when carrying out their duties at Wisma Nirvana to protect the feelings and sensitivities of the family members involved.

Meanwhile, at the Nirvana Memorial Park, Shah Alam, preparations for the reception ceremony and the cremation and burial arrangements were running smoothly.

Nirvana services and operations division manager Lum Hui Yee said rehearsals for the reception ceremony had been held on Wednesday and Thursday.
