melalui Jabatan Alam Sekitar (JAS) akan terus mengawasi dengan rapi status

kualiti udara di seluruh Negara mengikut tindakan yang digariskan dalam Pelan

Tindakan Jerebu Kebangsaan dan mengaktifkan Pelan Tindakan Mencegah Pembakaran

Terbuka di semua negeri. JAS juga mempertingkatkan penguatkuasaan ke atas

pelepasan asap dari kenderaan bermotor dan pelepasan dari industri.

Jabatan Alam Sekitar amat komited dalam memastikan kualiti udara di seluruh

Malaysia sihat. Bacaan Indeks Pencemar Udara (IPU) dari 52 buah stesen

pengawasan kualiti udara Jabatan Alam Sekitar (JAS) yang direkodkan pada jam 11

pagi, 17 Jun 2013 mencatatkan 5 stesen berada pada tahap baik, 43 stesen berada

pada tahap sederhana dan 4 stesen iaitu di Bandaraya Melaka (IPU 102), Kemaman,

Terengganu (IPU 121), Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, Pahang (IPU 107) dan Balok Baru,

Kuantan, Pahang (IPU 114) mencatatkan bacaan pada tahap tidak sihat.

Status kualiti udara pada hari ini telah bertambah baik berbanding semalam, 16

Jun 2013 apabila bilangan kawasan-kawasan yang mencatatkan bacaan IPU pada tahap

tidak sihat telah berkurangan kepada 4 kawasan berbanding sebanyak 6 kawasan

yang dilaporkan semalam.

Bacaan Indeks Pencemar Udara (IPU) pada tahap tidak sihat di beberapa kawasan di

selatan Pantai Barat Semenanjung dan Pantai Timur Semenanjung Malaysia sehingga

jam 11 pagi ini masih dipengaruhi pencemaran jerebu merentasi sempadan.

Laporan yang dikeluarkan oleh "ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre" (ASMC)

berdasarkan maklumat satelit NOAA-18 pada 16 Jun 2013 menunjukkan bilangan titik

panas (hotspot) di Sumatera, Indonesia terus meningkat kepada 136 titik panas

(hotspot) berbanding sebanyak 101 titik panas (hotspot) pada 15 Jun 2013 dan 46

titik panas (hotspot) pada 14 Jun 2013. Di Malaysia, sebanyak 16 titik panas

(hotspot) dikesan melalui satelit NOAA-18 iaitu di Negeri Johor(3), Pahang(6),

Selangor (1), Sabah(1) dan Sarawak (5) .

Peta Jerebu Serantau yang dikeluarkan oleh "ASEAN Specialised Meteorological

Centre" (ASMC) ditunjukkan dalam Rajah 1. Maklumat daripada ASMC menunjukkan

terdapat lingkaran asap jerebu sederhana berpunca dari kawasan kebakaran / titik

panas (hotspot) di Sumatera Tengah, Indonesia.

Negara kini sedang mengalami musim Monsun Barat Daya bermula pada bulan Jun 2013

dan dijangka berterusan sehingga bulan September 2013.

Angin Monsun Barat Daya yang bertiup dari kawasan titik panas (hotspot) di

Sumatera Tengah, Indonesia telah membawa pencemaran asap jerebu ke kawasan

selatan Pantai Barat Semenanjung dan pada hari ini telah merentasi hingga ke

Pantai Timur Semenanjung. Peta pergerakan asap jerebu dari kawasan kebakaran di

Sumatera, Indonesia yang disimulasi oleh Jabatan Meteorologi Malaysia melalui

permodelan cuaca “NOAA HYSPLIT” bertarikh 16 Jun 2013 ditunjukkan dalam Rajah 2.

Sebagai usaha berterusan menangani masalah jerebu merentasi sempadan, Mesyuarat

Ke-15 Sub-Serantau Jawatankuasa Pemandu Menteri Alam Sekitar (Sub-Regional

Ministerial Steering Committee - SRMSC) yang melibatkan 5 buah negara iaitu

Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapura, Brunei Darussalam dan Thailand akan bermesyuarat

pada 20 - 21 Ogos 2013 di Kuala Lumpur. Objektif Mesyuarat adalah bagi

mempertingkatkan kerjasama serantau dan mekanisme pengurusan kawalan pencemaran

jerebu merentasi sempadan. Selain itu, Mesyuarat SRMSC tersebut juga akan

memperhalusi cadangan mekanisme pengesanan awal kebakaran tanah dan hutan

antaranya melalui teknologi satelit berkeupayaan tinggi dan “Fire Danger Rating

System, FDRS".

Berikutan cuaca panas dan kering yang sedang dialami Negara, orang ramai

dinasihatkan supaya tidak melakukan atau menyebabkan pembakaran terbuka. Mereka

yang sabit kesalahan melakukan atau menyebabkan pembakaran terbuka boleh

dikenakan denda tidak melebihi RM500,000 atau penjara selama tempoh tidak

melebihi 5 tahun atau kedua-duanya sekali. Kompaun maksimum sebanyak RM2,000

juga boleh dikenakan atas setiap kesalahan.

Orang ramai juga diminta bekerjasama untuk memadam kebakaran-kebakaran kecil dan

juga melaporkan kes-kes pembakaran terbuka atau kebakaran kepada Jabatan

Perkhidmatan Bomba dan Penyelamat di talian 999 dan Jabatan Alam Sekitar (JAS)

di talian bebas tol, 1-800-88-2727.
