PAS sekali lagi membantah penetapan tarikh pengundian pilihan raya kecil (PRK) Sungai Limau apabila ia dijadualkan pada hari bekerja iaitu Isnin.

Ia disifatkan tidak demokratik dan menafikan hak pengundi khususnya mereka yang bekerja di luar kawasan pilihan raya tersebut.

PRK itu diadakan berikutan penyandangnya, Tan Sri Azizan Abdul Razak (gambar) meninggal dunia pada jam 11.10 pagi di Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar pada 26 September lalu.

Pada PRU13 Mei lalu, Azizan yang mendapat 13,294 undi menang dengan majoriti 2,774 undi menewaskan calon BN, Mohd Fazillah Mohd Ali (10,5204 undi) serta dua calon Bebas, Sobri Ahmad (100) dan Abdullah Hashim (84).

SPR menetapkan 4 November sebagai hari pembuangan undi PRK Dun Sungai Limau, Kedah sementara penamaan calon ialah pada 23 Oktober.

Ia mengulangi apa yang berlaku di PRK Kuala Besut yang juga ditetapkan pada hari bekerja iaitu Rabu.

PAS secara rasmi membuat bantahan mengenainya sebelum ini.

Ketua Dewan Muslimat PAS Pusat, Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff, berkata dalam menentukan tarikh pembuangan undi seharusnya SPR mengambil kira pengundi yang bekerja luar dari negeri Kedah.

Katanya, cara yang dilakukan SPR sangat tidak telus walaupun PRK belum dilaksanakan tetapi pembuangan undi pada hari bekerja dilakukan pada PRK Kuala Besut.

"Tindakan SPR itu seolah-olah menafikan hak pengundi yang bekerja untuk balik mengundi," katanya sebagaimana dipetik Harakahdaily, laman rasmi PAS.

Bagaimanapun, katanya, jentera muslimat PAS dari seluruh negara bersedia untuk turun membantu mempertahankan kemenangan di DUN Sungai Limau dengan majoriti yang lebih banyak.

Beliau berkata, selepas jentera Muslimat dilancarkan pada 11 Oktober nanti, jentera akan hadir membantu mengikut jadual yang ditetapkan kepada DUN dan negeri.

"Kita akan jalankan program selepas pelancaran. Jika PRK di Kuala Besut pada bulan Ramadan, jentera Muslimat bergerak dengan baik, insyaAllah di Dun Sungai Limau mereka akan bekerja dengan lebih baik," katanya.

Beliau yang juga Ahli Parlimen Rantau Panjang yakin PAS akan mempertahankan kemenangan DUN Sungai Limau kerana ia adalah kubu PAS.

Katanya, lebih 90 peratus penduduk terdiri daripada orang Melayu dan daripada jumlah itu 43.9 peratus daripada golongan anak muda.

“Sudah pasti faktor pengundi muda penentu kemenangn dan perkembangan terbaru usaha untuk memberi kesedaran kepada pengundi muda sangat penting selain calon PRK juga dipilih daripada orang muda,” katanya.

Berdasarkan perangkaan, 60 peratus pengundi DUN Sungai Limau berumur kurang daripada 50 tahun. – 4 Oktober, 2013.
