BUTTERWORTH, 23 April (Bernama) -- Pelajar Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK)

Desa Murni di sini gembira dan teruja dapat melihat dengan lebih dekat Timbalan

Perdana Menteri Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin apabila pemimpin nombor dua negara itu

merasmikan sekolah mereka hari ini.

Raihanah Zulkifli, 15, berkata dia tidak mahu melepaskan peluang untuk

melihat timbalan perdana menteri dengan lebih dekat kerana ini julung kali dia

dapat berbuat demikian.

"Saya dan kawan-kawan yang bersekolah pada sesi pagi sanggup datang semula

ke sekolah pada sebelah petang untuk melihat timbalan perdana menteri merasmikan

sekolah kami.

"Inilah peluang yang jarang kami dapat kerana bukan semua sekolah dirasmikan

oleh beliau. Selalu tengok di akhbar sahaja tetapi hari ini dapat tengok depan

mata," katanya kepada Bernama di sini hari ini.

Muhyiddin, yang juga Menteri Pelajaran, menyempurnakan perasmian SMK Desa

Murni bernilai RM18.2 juta itu yang beroperasi sejak Ogos 2010. Turut hadir

isteri beliau Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman serta Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian

Pelajaran Datuk Dr Rosli Mohamed.

PELAJAR-TERUJA 2 (AKHIR) BUTTERWORTH

Sekolah sembilan tingkat yang dilengkapi kemudahan lif itu mula dibina sejak

pertengahan 2007 dan mempunyai 24 bilik darjah, makmal, dewan serba guna dan

beberapa kemudahan sukan.

Seorang lagi pelajar Kamarul Irwan Khairul, 14, berkata dia gembira

bersekolah di SMK Desa Murni kerana dilengkapi pelbagai kemudahan.

"Terima kasih kepada kerajaan kerana menyediakan tempat pelajaran yang

begitu selesa kepada kami, lagipun inilah satu-satunya sekolah sembilan tingkat

di negeri ini. Beruntung kami yang belajar di sini," katanya.

SMK Desa Murni menempatkan 540 pelajar.
