BANGKOK, 22 Ogos (Bernama) -- Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia (PPPM)

2013-2025 yang dijadual dilancar bulan depan akan diteruskan dan ia tidak

akan tergugat dengan bantahan mana-mana pihak, kata Timbalan Perdana Menteri Tan

Sri Muhyiddin Yassin hari ini.

Beliau berkata kalau ia tidak diteruskan bukan sahaja ia dilihat sebagai

satu kelemahan tetapi juga menjejaskan sistem pendidikan sekolah kebangsaan.

Pada sidang akhbar dengan wartawan Malaysia selepas mengunjungi Perdana

Menteri Thailand Yingluck Shinawatra di sini hari ini, beliau juga memberi

jaminan bahawa sekolah Tamil dan Cina tidak akan dihapuskan.

PPPM telah mendapat tentangan daripada Persekutuan Persatuan-persatuan

Lembaga Pengurus Sekolah Cina Malaysia (Dong Zong) yang bimbang tentang status

bahasa Cina di bawah pelan itu.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri yang tiba di sini semalam untuk lawatan rasmi dua

hari bermula hari ini berkata, dalam pelan itu tidak ada langsung dinyatakan

bahawa bahasa Cina akan dihapuskan.

MUHYIDDIN-PPPM 2 (AKHIR) BANGKOK

Muhyiddin yang juga Menteri Pendidikan berkata PPPM telah dibuat dengan

melibatkan 17,000 cadangan dan bertujuan untuk membaiki sekolah kebangsaan yang

dianggap lemah oleh sesetengah pihak.

"Mungkin mereka mahu sekolah kebangsaan mundur," kata beliau mengenai

bantahan Dong Zong terhadap PPPM.

Walaupun begitu, beliau memuji sesetengah wakil masyarakat Cina yang telah

memberikan cadangan bagi menambahbaik pelan tersebut seperti menambahkan waktu

belajar untuk Bahasa Cina dan Bahasa Inggeris.
