Sukarelawan Polis (PVR) adalah sebagai persediaan untuk menghadapi fasa kedua

Bidang Keberhasilan Utama Negara (NKRA) Mengurangkan Jenayah, kata Ketua Polis

Negara Tan Sri Ismail Omar.

Dengan penambahan itu, beliau berkata Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) dan PVR

dapat memberi tumpuan kepada jenis jenayah dan kawasan yang lebih luas selain

menjalin kerjasama menyeluruh dengan pihak berkepentingan dalam usaha mencegah

jenayah.

"Kerjasama antara polis dan PVR mempunyai fokus utama untuk

membentuk masyarakat agar cintakan keamanan menerusi program ''Bersatupadu

Menentang Jenayah'',"katanya pada pelancaran program Jelajah Jalinan Mesra

Sukarelawan Polis Se-Malaysia di sini hari ini.

Teks ucapannya dibacakan oleh Timbalan Ketua Polis Negara Tan Sri Khalid Abu

Bakar.

Pada pembentangan Belanjawan 2013 lepas, Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib

Tun Razak mengumumkan peruntukan RM591 juta untuk meningkatkan

kecekapan PDRM termasuk RM70 juta untuk menambah anggota PVR.

ISMAIL-PVR 2 KUALA LUMPUR

Ismail berkata polis juga akan memperkemaskan lagi Skim Rondaan Sukarelawan

dengan kehadiran anggota PVR di lebih 3,000 kawasan perumahan dan tempat

kunjungan ramai selain meningkatkan program Rakan Cop, yang kini dianggotai

kira-kira 500,000 orang.

Beliau berkata anggota PVR perlu sentiasa bersedia dan melengkapkan diri

dengan mempelajari sistem kepolisan terkini untuk mencegah dan membendung

kejadian jenayah.

"Polis sedang merangka pelan perancangan strategi yang mengambil kira

keperluan kepada perubahan dalam persekitaran untuk mengadaptasikan falsafah

kepolisan dan penggubalan dasar-dasar kerajaan dalam menghadapi era

globalisasi," katanya.

Menyifatkan ia sebagai inisiatif tambahan melengkapi organisasi untuk

mencegah jenayah, beliau berkata pendekatan itu diambil dalam menggandakan

inisiatif bagi memaksimumkan penggunaan modal insan sebagai aset utama untuk

mengurangkan tahap ''takut kepada jenayah'' dalam kalangan masyarakat.

Pada sidang media kemudian, Khalid berkata syarat pengambilan anggota PVR

mulai tahun depan akan dilonggarkan seiring dengan pengambilan 10,000 anggota

baru bagi jawatan itu, yang diiklankan sejak dua hari lepas.

ISMAIL-PVR 3 (AKHIR) KUALA LUMPUR

Syarat baru itu ialah had umur ditambah daripada 18 hingga 45 tahun

dan penganggur boleh memohon tetapi perlu melepasi ujian tapisan keselamatan.

Beliau turut menggalakkan guru-guru menyertai PVR bagi meningkatkan tahap

keselamatan pelajar di sekolah.

Sementara itu, di IPOH, Ketua Polis Perak, Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahalan meminta

masyarakat Cina menyertai pasukan PVR memandangkan hanya dua peratus daripada

250 anggota PVR di negeri itu terdiri daripada kaum itu.

Beliau berkata oleh kerana tidak ramai kaum Cina berkhidmat dalam pasukan

polis maka mereka boleh lagi menyumbang khidmat mereka dengan menyertai pasukan

PVR.

Semasa melancarkan program sama peringkat negeri Perak, Mohd Shukri turut

menggesa golongan profesional menyertai pasukan PVR dalam sama-sama membantu

anggota polis dalam membanteras jenayah di negeri itu.

Katanya Perak kini mempunyai 1,195 jawatan kosong dalam pasukan PVR dan akan

mengadakan eksesais pengambilan menerusi program berbentuk karnival.
