akan merasmikan acara jalan kaki ''1 Million Women Purple Walk 2013'' di Dataran

Putrajaya di sini pada 10 Mac bersempena sambutan Hari Wanita Antarabangsa 2013.

Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan

Masyarakat Datuk Harjeet Singh berkata pada majlis itu Najib, yang juga Menteri

Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat, akan turut melancarkan 1Malaysia

Komuniti Perwani, satu daripada inisiatif di bawah Strategi Lautan Biru

Kebangsaan.

Beliau berkata acara jalan kaki itu akan menghimpunkan sejuta wanita bagi

menunjukkan solidariti wanita atas komitmen kerajaan dan sebagai tanda sokongan

serta penghargaan atas inisiatif kerajaan kepada wanita Malaysia.

Acara itu akan diadakan serentak di seluruh negara yang dibuka secara

percuma kepada semua wanita Malaysia berusia 15 tahun ke atas dan sebagai tanda

sokongan, kaum lelaki turut digalakkan menyertainya, katanya pada sidang berita

di sini hari ini.

Beliau berkata mereka yang ingin menyertai boleh terus hadir ke lokasi yang

ditetapkan dengan memakai baju sukan atau baju-t ungu, tudung atau topi berwarna

ungu.

Selain Putrajaya, acara ''1 Million Women Purple Walk'' akan diadakan serentak

di Selangor iaitu di Universiti Teknologi Mara, Shah Alam; Kedah (Perkarangan

Stadium Sultan Abdul Halim, Alor Setar); Perlis (Perkarangan Dataran Dato''

Sheikh Ahmad, Kangar); Kelantan (Dataran Lembah Sireh, Kota Baharu); Terengganu

(Dataran Syahbandar, Kuala Terengganu); Perak (Perkarangan Stadium Ipoh, Ipoh);

Johor (Dataran Mahkota, Kota Iskandar);

Pahang (Padang FA, Jerantut), Pulau Pinang (Politeknik Seberang Prai);

Melaka (Perkarangan Bangunan MITC, Ayer Keroh); Sabah (Dataran Bandaraya Kota

Kinabalu); Sarawak (Taman Pertemuan, Kuching); dan Labuan (Dataran Labuan).

Pelbagai aktiviti dan persembahan turut diadakan sepanjang program

berlangsung, termasuk 100 gerai pameran terdiri daripada agensi kerajaan, badan

bukan kerajaan dan syarikat swasta.

Mengenai inisiatif 1Malaysia Komuniti Perwani, Harjeet Singh berkata

kementerian perlu merealisasikan segera sasaran mewujudkan 100,000 kumpulan

jaringan wanita Perwani di seluruh negara.

"Penubuhan 1Malaysia Komuniti Perwani bertujuan agar anggotanya bakal

menjadi ejen transformasi wanita di peringkat komuniti," katanya.
