KUALA LUMPUR, 16 Jan (Bernama) -- Terdapat peningkatan permohonan pensijilan

halal di Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim) Jabatan Agama Islam Negeri

(Jain) sejak Akta Perihal Dagangan 2011 dikuatkuasakan.

Ketua Pengarah Jakim Datuk Othman Mustapha berkata sehingga 31 Dis lepas,

sejumlah 6,877 dengan 4,373 permohonan berbayar diterima berbanding 4,099 pada

tahun sebelumnya.

"Daripada jumlah tersebut, sebanyak 3,469 permohonan telah diluluskan

berbanding 1,678 permohonan diluluskan pada 2011.

"Secara umum, ini menunjukkan bahawa pihak industri mulai sedar akan

kepentingan dan keperluan memiliki Sijil Pengesahan Halal Malaysia," katanya

dalam satu kenyataan hari ini.

Perintah Perihal Dagangan (Perakuan dan Penandaan Halal) 2011 bagi akta itu

berkuat kuasa mulai 1 Jan 2011 dan tamat pada 31 Dis 2012.

JAKIM-HALAL 2 (AKHIR) KUALA LUMPUR

Othman berkata dari sudut pemantauan dan penguatkuasaan sepanjang tahun

lepas, Jakim memeriksa 1,437 premis makanan dengan 17 kertas siasatan mengikut

akta itu dibuka, membabitkan 15 premis makanan dan dua kes produk.

Beliau berkata bagi setengah tahun pertama ini, tumpuan diberi kepada

penggunaan logo halal swasta pada produk dan sehingga 14 Jan, sebanyak 44

pemantauan berkala serta penguatkuasaan dijalankan.

"Daripada jumlah itu, hanya dua kes disiasat di bawah akta merangkumi

masing-masing satu premis makanan dan satu produk," katanya.

Othman berkata melihat kepada jumlah kes, pihaknya percaya kebanyakan

pengusaha mematuhi arahan penggunaan sijil dan logo halal yang diiktiraf

mengikut keperluan akta itu.

Beliau berkata sehubungan itu, Jakim yakin masalah pemalsuan sijil halal

akan dapat diatasi.

"Di kalangan pemegang sijil halal, pihak industri dilihat lebih bersedia dan

memahami tanggungjawab mereka dalam memastikan produk halal yang dibekalkan oleh

mereka dari semasa ke semasa.

"Jakim juga berharap agar masyarakat dapat memberi kerjasama dengan

menyalurkan maklumat sekiranya berlaku penyalahgunaan sijil dan logo halal di

pasaran," katanya.
