KUALA BESUT, 16 Julai (Bernama) -- Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin berkata setiap

anggota masyarakat bertanggungjawab mempertahankan keamanan dan kestabilan

pentadbiran negara serta tidak menafikan peranan kerajaan yang diterajui Barisan

Nasional (BN).

Timbalan Perdana Menteri berkata berbanding negara lain yang mana rakyatnya

hidup dalam kebimbangan seperti yang berlaku di Mesir dan Syria ketika ini,

penduduk di negara ini pula mampu menjalankan tugas seharian termasuk

melaksanakan kewajipan berpuasa dalam keadaan tenang dan selesa.

"Di sini kita bertuah dan perlu bersyukur kerana apa yang berlaku seperti di

Mesir dan Syria tidak berlaku di sini, jadi menjadi tanggungjawab kita untuk

sama-sama pertahankan keadaan itu," katanya dalam ucapan ringkas sempena

majlis berbuka puasa bersama anak-anak yatim dari kawasan sekitar di Masjid

Teluk Bayu di sini, hari ini.

Hadir sama Menteri Besar Terengganu Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, Menteri

Pendidikan Kedua Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh dan calon Barisan Nasional (BN) bagi

pilihan raya kecil Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Kuala Besut Tengku Zaihan Che Ku

Abd Rahman.

Muhyiddin, yang juga Pengarah Pilihan Raya BN bagi pilihan raya kecil DUN

Kuala Besut, berkata suasana aman dalam negara tidak terjadi begitu sahaja

sebaliknya terhasil melalui sistem pentadbiran negara yang tersusun di bawah

pentadbiran kerajaan BN.

"Kita juga tidak boleh nafikan apa yang kerajaan BN buat dalam meletakkan

Malaysia sebagai sebuah negara Islam yang disegani dan menjadi contoh negara

besar yang lain," katanya.

Beliau turut menarik perhatian bahawa pembangunan di kawasan Kuala Besut

akan terus diberi perhatian oleh kerajaan dan sekiranya Tengku Zaihan diberikan

mandat pada 24 Julai ini, ia akan meneruskan lagi kesinambungan pembangunan yang

telah dan akan dirancang.

"Sepanjang lawatan saya hari ini, saya nampak penduduk sudah tidak sabar

untuk menanti hari pengundian 24 Julai ini untuk memberi sokongan kepada Tengku

Zaihan," katanya.

Pada pilihan raya kecil 24 Julai, Tengku Zaihan akan ditentang Endot@Azlan

Yusof dari PAS.

Pada majlis itu Muhyiddin turut mengumumkan peruntukan RM140,000 bagi

pembelian permaidani dan pendingin hawa untuk kegunaan Masjid Teluk Bayu serta

sumbangan kepada 70 anak yatim dan fakir miskin.

Petang tadi, Muhyiddin menyertai jemaah Alor Teratai menunaikan solat

Asar di Masjid An-Naim, Alor Teratai.
