KUALA LUMPUR, 24 Jun (Bernama) -- Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) akan

ditambah nilai peruntukannya pada Belanjawan 2014 yang akan dibentang pada

Oktober, kata Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Katanya kerajaan komited untuk menyediakan belanjawan terbaik untuk rakyat

dan perlu terlebih dahulu melihat kedudukan tahunan kewangan negara.

Najib yang juga Menteri Kewangan berkata kerajaan turut menyasarkan untuk

menurunkan defisit negara dari 4 peratus kepada 3.5 peratus pada 2014 dan

seterusnya kepada 3 peratus pada 2015.

Tegas Perdana Menteri, keutamaan kerajaan pada Parlimen ke-13 yang mula

bersidang hari ini adalah kepada usaha-usaha untuk menunaikan AkuJanji Barisan

Nasional (BN) pada pilihan raya umum ke-13 (PRU13).

"Perbincangan tentang Bajet 2014 akan bermula minggu depan. Saya bagi pihak

kerajaan berbesar hati untuk menjemput rakyat jelata menyuarakan pandangan serta

pendapat bernas berhubung pelan belanjawan negara untuk tahun depan," katanya

dalam entri terbaharu blog beliau hari ini.

"Sesungguhnya kami komited untuk terus mendengar suara rakyat, dan kami akan

meletakkan kepentingan rakyat jelata sebagai teras kukuh dalam rangka

perbelanjaan tahunan negara," katanya.

NAJIB-BR1M 2 KUALA LUMPUR

Najib berkata demokrasi berperlembagaan yang selama ini diamalkan di negara

ini jelas semakin subur dan sihat, dan rakyat sudah bertambah matang dalam

membuat pilihan serta menjaga dan mengamalkan prinsip-prinsip demokrasi.

"Keputusan PRU13 menjadi bukti bahawa amalan demokrasi begitu subur dan

matang di negara kita ini," katanya.

Katanya persidangan Dewan Rakyat kali ini menyaksikan penyertaan lebih ramai

anggota Parlimen muda yang boleh membawa aspirasi dan semangat golongan muda

yang membentuk lebih daripada 40 peratus daripada jumlah pengundi berdaftar

negara.

Sambil menyifatkan ia satu perkembangan yang sihat, beliau berkata golongan

muda adalah penggerak sosio-ekonomi negara yang tidak boleh dipinggirkan sama

sekali dalam usaha membangunkan ibu pertiwi.

Mengucap tahniah kepada anggota Parlimen yang telah dipilih oleh pengundi

berdaftar dalam PRU13, Najib berkata anggota Parlimen adalah anggota Majlis

Perundangan Persekutuan yang juga dikenali sebagai Dewan Rakyat.

"Dewan Rakyat bertanggungjawab untuk mencadang, membahas, merangka serta

meluluskan rang undang-undang demi kepentingan bersama seluruh rakyat jelata.

"Anggota Parlimen juga memegang peranan untuk mengkaji pelan ekonomi, bajet

kerajaan serta mengkaji undang-undang sedia ada demi memperbaikinya, dan kami

juga perlu mendapat maklum balas rakyat dari kawasan parlimen yang diwakili

masing-masing," katanya.

Katanya beliau yakin sebagai anggota Parlimen, mereka mampu berbahas secara

berhemah dan tertib serta perlu menyumbangkan idea serta pendapat yang bernas

demi kepentingan rakyat.

"Kita berharap supaya anggota Parlimen komited memberikan penyertaan yang

aktif agar sesuatu perbahasan boleh dijalankan dengan efisien dan bermanfaat,"

katanya.

Beliau turut menyeru kepada semua anggota Parlimen untuk sama-sama bekerja

keras demi membangunkan negara yang dicintai kerana rakyat bergantung harapan

kepada mereka.

"Bagi pihak diri saya sendiri dan kerajaan BN, saya panjangkan rasa

penghargaan kepada rakyat yang telah memberikan mandat kepada saya dan BN untuk

terus mentadbir negara.

"Sesungguhnya kepercayaan yang anda berikan tidak sama sekali akan

disia-siakan oleh barisan pemimpin di bawah tunjang kepimpinan BN," katanya.
