KUALA LUMPUR, 5 Jun (Bernama) -- Syarikat minyak nasional, Petronas

menjangka keuntungan sebelum cukainya tidak berubah bagi tahun kewangan yang

berakhir pada 31 Dis, 2013, setelah sumbangan yang lebih tinggi dari Kanada dan

Uzbekistan akan diimbangi penurunan harga minyak mentah dan sumbangan lebih

rendah dari Sudan.

Presiden dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif kumpulan Tan Sri Shamsul Azhar Abbas

berkata harga minyak mentah dijangka pada purata kira-kira US$95-US$100 setong

tahun ini daripada US$112 setong pada suku pertama tahun ini.

"Ketidaktentuan ekonomi global dijangka membawa kepada keadaan tidak menentu

yang berterusan dalam harga minyak dan permintaan minyak dunia yang mungkin

mempengaruhi prestasi Petronas," kata beliau pada taklimat media mengenai

keputusan kewangan suku pertama Petronas hari ini.

Hadir sama pada taklimat berkenaan ialah Pengerusi Petronas Tan Sri Mohd

Sidek Hassan dan pasukan pengurusan utama syarikat minyak nasional itu.

Shamsul berkata bagi suku pertama yang berakhir pada 31 Mac tahun ini,

keuntungan sebelum cukai Petronas susut sedikit kepada RM28.8 bilion daripada

RM29.8 bilion pada tempoh sama tahun lepas.

Perolehan bagaimanapun, naik kepada RM76.67 bilion daripada RM75.25 bilion

pada suku sama 2012.

"Keuntungan bagi suku berkenaan susut terutamanya disebabkan oleh margin

yang lebih rendah hasil daripada perbelanjaan operasi dan bukan operasi yang

lebih tinggi, yang sebahagiannya diimbangi oleh pelarasan operasi tidak

dijalankan semasa tempoh berkenaan," katanya.

Bagaimanapun, beliau berkata perolehan suku pertama mendapat manfaat

daripada jumlah dagangan yang lebih bagi minyak mentah dan gas asli bersandarkan

permintaan yang kukuh daripada pelanggan serta kesan pengukuhan dolar AS

berbanding inggit.

Jumlah aset, kata beliau meningkat kepada RM498.7 bilion sehingga 31 Mac,

berbanding RM489.2 bilion pada 31 Dis tahun lepas terutamanya disebabkan

keuntungan yang dijana semasa suku berkenaan.

Mengenai penerokaan dan pengeluaran, beliau berkata syarikat berjaya membuat

empat penemuan dalam negara dan di luar negara.

"Jumlah pengeluaran bagi suku berkenaan naik kepada 2.15 bilion tong sehari

berbanding 2.11 bilion tong sehari pada suku yang sama tahun lepas," katanya.

Mengenai perkembangan lain, Shamsul Azhar berkata pengeluaran semula di

Selatan Sudan pada April tahun ini selepas penutupan selama 15 bulan disebabkan

pertikaian antara negara itu dan negara jiran Sudan, hanya dijangka pulih kepada

120,000 tong sehari tahun depan.

Beliau berkata operasi Selatan Sudan kini mengeluarkan 200 tong sehari

dengan kargo komersial pertama dijangka pada bila-bila masa.

Shamsul Azhar berkata selain daripada Sudan, syarikat dijangka memulakan

pengeluaran dari Lembangan Campos Brazil yang terdiri daripada Blok BM-C-39 dan

BM-C-40, pada suku keempat tahun ini.

Blok ini yang terletak di perairan yang terletak 95 kilometer luar pesisir

Rio De Janeiro, merupakan 40 peratus milik Petronas melalui unit milik penuh

Petronas Brasil E&P Limitada.
