KUALA LUMPUR, 5 Jun (Bernama) -- Petronas yakin dengan industri minyak dan

gas Malaysia dengan kemunculan teknologi baharu yang memudahkan lagi eksplorasi

lapangan minyak dan gas.

Pengerusinya Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan berkata peserta industri di rantau

ini melabur berbilion ringgit bagi membangunkan teknologi baharu.

"Terdapat banyak penemuan rizab laut dalam (kebelakangan ini) apabila

teknologi baharu membantu rizab yang tidak ekonomi sebelum ini dikunjungi

semula," katanya kepada pemberita pada perasmian Pameran Minyak, Gas dan

Kejuruteraan Petrokima Asia ke-14 (OGA 2013) di sini, hari ini.

Sidek berkata penemuan rizab minyak dan gas di daratan Sarawak dan kejayaan

penggerudian di Lapangan Minyak Cendor di luar pantai Semenanjung Malaysia

merupakan bukti usaha bersungguh-sungguh untuk mencari rizab menerusi

penyelesaian kreatif, teknologi inovatif dan kerjasama industri membuahkan

hasil.

"Teknologi ini akan membuka laluan bagi mencari lapangan gas kecil dan

terbiar, di Malaysia dan juga luar negara," katanya.

Oleh kerana rizab minyak semakin berkurangan, perlu untuk memastikan

industri sentiasa bersedia dalam menginovasi bagi pengekstrakan tinggi,

persekitaran kerja yang lebih selamat dan pengurusan sumber berharga (minyak dan

gas).

"Malaysia masih mempunyai potensi yang belum dimanfaatkan (walaupun) rizab

masa depan dijangka lebih mencabar untuk diakses.

"Dengan cabaran ini, ia memerlukan teknologi lebih canggih, pengetahuan dan

kepakaran untuk meneroka rantau sempadan dan menambah baik kadar penemuan," kata

bekas ketua setiausaha kerajaan itu.

Di masa depan, Mohd Sidek berkata, peserta industri memerlukan perkongsian

produktif yang mengoptimumkan sumber dan menghapuskan pertindihan usaha.

Beliau berkata negara harus menghentikan perlahan-lahan secara proaktif

teknologi yang sudah ketinggalan zaman dan menjadi papan loncatan bagi inovasi,

satu daripada objektif di bawah Bidang Ekonomi Utama Negara (NKEA) bagi minyak,

gas dan tenaga.

Sasaran di bawah NKEA Minyak, Gas dan Tenaga itu adalah untuk menarik 10

hingga 20 syarikat utama dalam perkhidmatan lapangan minyak dan industri

kelengkapan untuk menempatkan 10 peratus daripada operasi perniagaan mereka di

Malaysia, katanya.

Kira-kira 2,000 syarikat minyak dan gas dari 54 negara menyertai pameran

tiga hari yang bermula hari ini. Pameran dua tahun sekali itu menyasar menarik

22,000 pengunjung perdagangan dari 60 negara.
