Nelly Furtado's last studio album was three years ago, and one would expect her to make a grand return with a new album after all this while. And that was what she did.
The 33-year-old singer was in Singapore last week to promote her new album, 'The Spirit Indestructible' - set to drop in September, with an exclusive mini showcase at the Coliseum in Hard Rock Hotel, Singapore.
Her first Asia tour and first visit to Singapore, Nelly thrilled more than 1,500 adoring fans. She warmed up the crowd with her 2006 hit "Maneater" (off her third album 'Loose), before she got them dancing to party favourites like "Turn Off The Lights", "Big Hoops" and her new single "Parking Lot" from her new album.
Nelly then toned the showcase down a little with a stripped-down rendition of her all-time favourite track "I’m Like A Bird", leaving the crowd singing every word back to her. Nelly then pumped the energy up a notch with a medley of songs from her vast repertoire (which includes hits like "Give It To Me", "Morning After", "Hot & Fun", "Night Is Young" and "Jump") before bidding farewell with crowd favourite "Say It Right".
The Nelly Furtado 'The Spirit Indestructible' media junket was sponsored by Universal Music Malaysia.
