MIRI, 18 Mac (Bernama) -- Polis Sarawak meningkatkan aspek keselamatan di

sempadan berhampiran Sabah di Lawas, Limbang bagi mengelak ancaman serta

memastikan penganas Sulu yang menceroboh Sabah tidak menyusup masuk ke negeri

ini.

Pesuruhjaya Polis Sarawak Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani berkata, antara

kawasan yang diperketat kawalan keselamatan ialah di Pusat Kastam dan Kuarantin

(CIQ) Merapok di daerah Lawas, Limbang serta di Sindumin Sabah yang terletak

berhampiran sempadan Merapok.

"Setakat ini, tiada tanda ancaman akan berlaku di Sarawak namun kita sedang

mengawal dengan ketat keselamatan," katanya kepada pemberita di Lapangan Terbang

Miri hari ini.

Acryl berada di sini bagi menyambut kepulangan, Lans Koperal Effendey Rosli

daripada pasukan Platun Tiger Kompeni, Batalion 12, Pasukan Gerak Am (PGA), Miri

yang tercedera di betis kiri semasa pertempuran dengan penganas Sulu di Lahad

Datu, Sabah pada 9 Mac lalu.

Mengenai kecederaan dialami Effendey, beliau berkata, ini merupakan antara

cabaran terpaksa dihadapi anggota keselamatan yang mempertarungkan nyawa demi

negara dan mahu masyarakat sentiasa memberi sokongan kepada mereka.

POLIS-SEMPADAN 2 (AKHIR) MIRI

Sementara itu Effendey, 25, ketika ditemui media berkata, kecederaan

dialaminya tidak sesekali melunturkan semangat untuk bertugas demi keselamatan

negara.

"Saya tidak sabar kembali bertugas selepas kecederaan sembuh sepenuhnya,"

katanya sejurus selepas tiba di sini.

Beliau berkata sewaktu kejadian pada 8 malam berlarutan sehingga subuh,

penganas berbalas tembakan dengan anggota keselamatan yang bertugas dalam

keadaan gelap dan ini menyebabkan lokasi musuh sukar dikesan.

"Apabila tertembak walaupun amat sakit, saya masih bersemangat untuk

berjuang dan masih memegang senjata," katanya.

Selain Effendey, 25, seorang lagi rakannya Mohd Zairiman Ibrahim, 25, turut

tercedera di paha dan betis kaki kanan dan kini sedang menerima rawatan di

Hospital Sandakan Sabah.
