Police menafikan taktik ganas digunakan ke atas mangsa tunggal perhimpunan BERSIH 2.0 yang meninggal dunia pada perhimpunan 9 Julai yang lalu, termasuk dakwaan beliau dibelasah pihak berkuasa.

Sebaliknya menurut Pengarah Keselamatan Dalam Negeri dan Ketenteraman Awam Bukit Aman, Datuk Salleh Mat Rasid, dakwaan keluarga Baharudin Ahmad, bahawa tulang rusuk lelaki itu patah adalah mungkin disebabkan oleh rawatan Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) yang diberikan oleh pihak berkuasa.

Beliau juga menafikan luka di bibir dan gigi lelaki berusia 58 tahun itu patah adalah akibat keganasan pihak polis.

“Saya diberitahu terdapat dakwaan tiga tulang rusuk dan giginya patah. Menurut pakar perubatan tulang rusuk itu patah mungkin akibat rawatan CPR.

“Mengenai gigi yang patah, ini mungkin kerana tiub dimasukkan ke dalam mulutnya kerana pegawai perubatan cuba menyedarkannya semula,” katanya pada taklimat kepada media dan beberapa NGO berhubung beberapa kejadian 9 Julai lalu mengikut versi polis, di Bukit Aman, petang semalam.

Sebelum ini anggota keluarga Baharudin telah mengemukakan memorandum kepada Suhakam dan Ketua Polis Negara Tan Sri Ismail Omar, mendakwa tulang rusuh dan gigi yang patah itu mungkin berpunca daripada keganasan polis.

Menurut Salleh, rakaman CCTV yang ditayangkan kepada media jelas membuktikan tiada semburan pemedih mata yang mengenai Burhanuddin ketika allahyarham berlari memasuki bangunan berhampiran Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) pada hari kejadian pada pukul 4.30 petang.

"Hasil siasatan kita, ada rakaman kamera litar tertutup (CCTV) yang terdapat di dalam Avenue K dan ia membuktikan tidak ada langsung gas pemedih mata dikeluarkan polis, ia sekaligus menepis dakawaan itu. Allahyarham rebah selepas berlari bersama orang ramai di dalam Avenue K, dan kenyataan itu juga disokong oleh beberapa saksi awam yang telah diambil keterangan.

"Dakwaan bahawa ambulans tiba lewat, sehingga sejam untuk menyelamatkan Burhanuddin juga tidak benar kerana jangka masa yang terdapat di CCTV itu menunjukkan bahawa ambulan tiba kira-kira 17 minit kemudian selepas menerima panggilan 999," katanya.

Salleh berkata rakaman itu menunjukkan sebuah ambulans tiba di lokasi kejadian pada pukul 5.07 petang untuk membawa mangsa ke Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, selepas menerima panggilan kira-kira 17 minit sebelum itu.

Dakwanya, rakaman dari menara KLCC dan Avenue-K menunjukkan tiada gas pemedih mata dilepaskan di lokasi KLCC dan tiada anggota polis berada di lokasi Baharudin meninggal dunia, sebaliknya bantuan awal diberi anggota polis bantuan.

"Hasil bedah siasat menunjukkan allahyarham tidak mengalami sebarang kecederaan di luaran atau dalaman seperti lebam, calar atau luka serta menjelaskan kematiannya mempunyai kaitan dengan serangan jantung.

"Berikutan itu, ia jelas menafikan tohmahan allahyarham meninggal dunia akibat dipukul polis dan terkena gas pemedih mata," katanya lagi.

Sehubungan itu, Salleh menasihati mana-mana pihak agar tidak memuat naik sebarang bahan atau artikel yang tidak menggambarkan situasi atau fakta sebenar perhimpunan berkenaan.

"Pihak polis akan mengambil tindakan undang-undang terhadap pihak-pihak yang menyiarkan laporan dan dakwaan palsu.

"Jika terdapat rakaman yang menunjukkan pihak polis melakukan tindakan menyalahi SOP, sila tampil membuat laporan polis dan kita akan siasat. Mana-mana anggota atau pegawai yang melanggar SOP akan dikenakan tindakan sewajarnya," katanya.
