KUALA LUMPUR, 9 April (Bernama) -- Pejabat Pelajaran Daerah (PPD) perlu

bersedia memainkan peranan lebih besar dan secara langsung bagi memastikan

pengurusan dan pengoperasian sekolah dilaksana dengan teratur.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin berkata ini memandangkan

PPD adalah entiti Kementerian Pelajaran yang paling dekat dengan sekolah dan ia

dapat memastikan aspirasi pendidikan negara dilaksanakan dengan lebih berkesan.

"Hubungan erat antara PPD dengan pihak pentadbir dan guru-guru di sekolah

juga membolehkan setiap dasar, aspirasi dan inisiatif baharu yang dilaksanakan

kerajaan dapat dihayati dan direalisasikan dengan berjaya," katanya pada majlis

Anugerah Cemerlang Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia 2012 di sini hari ini.

Penganugerahan tahun ini menyaksikan buat pertama kalinya beberapa PPD yang

mempamerkan prestasi cemerlang dalam membantu sekolah meningkatkan prestasi

masing-masing, diiktiraf.

Muhyiddin, yang juga Menteri Pelajaran, berkata pengiktirafan ini amat kena

pada masanya dan selari dengan agenda Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia

untuk menyusun semula dan memperkasa PPD.

MUHYIDDIN-PPD 2 (AKHIR) KUALA LUMPUR

Muhyiddin berkata bagi merapatkan lagi jurang pencapaian dan meluaskan akses

kepada pendidikan untuk golongan berkeperluan khas termasuk kaum pribumi dan

minoriti, PPD juga akan diberi keluwesan operasi.

Ini, katanya, supaya dasar serta program dapat disesuaikan bagi menepati

keperluan mereka.

Bercakap kepada pemberita selepas itu, Muhyiddin berkata penyusunan semula

PPD akan memastikannya berfungsi dengan lebih berkesan dalam jangka panjang.

Penyusunan semula PPD antaranya melibatkan perluasan bidang tugas dan

kedudukan pegawai PPD serta penyediaan infrastruktur supaya mereka boleh

memantau dan membantu pengurusan sekolah meningkatkan pencapaian.

Katanya, setakat ini Kedah dan Sabah telah memulakan usaha penstrukturan

semula PPD.
