China menyifatkan Malaysia sebagai rakan kongsi strategik yang boleh dipercayai dan begitu komited untuk terus memperkukuhkan lagi kerjasama antara kedua-dua negara, kata Presiden Xi Jinping.

Beliau berkata, hubungan kukuh antara Beijing dan Kuala Lumpur adalah berdasarkan keutuhan kepercayaan daripada segi poltik, jalinan kerjasama saling menguntungkan selain sokongan rakyat kedua-dua negara yang terjalin sejak hampir empat dekad.

Merujuk peribahasa Melayu 'Air dicincang tidak akan putus' bagi menggambarkan persahabatan kedua-dua negara, Xi berharap untuk melihat hubungan China dan Malaysia terus berkembang dan membawa lebih banyak manfaat kepada kedua-dua pihak.

"Saya harap kita akan merebut peluang untuk membuka lembaran baharu dalam hubungan dua hala kedua-dua negara serta meraikan masa depan lebih gemilang kepada China dan Malaysia," kata Xi, yang kini dalam lawatan rasmi tiga hari ke negara ini, ketika berucap pada Sidang Kemuncak Ekonomi Malaysia-China semalam.

Turut hadir ialah Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, yang turut menyampaikan ucaptama.

Menyedari hubungan Malaysia dan China wujud atas dasar kepercayaan utuh daripada segi politik, Xi berkata, ini terbukti apabila Najib memilih melawat China sebagai destinasi pertama di luar Asean selepas mengambil alih pentadbiran negara pada 2009.

Begitu juga dengan Xi, yang menjadikan Malaysia satu daripada destinasi penting dalam kunjungan pertama beliau ke Asean.

Mengulas kerjasama perniagaan dan perdagangan China dan Malaysia, Xi berkata, kedua-dua negara perlu mengambil kesempatan berdasarkan kekuatan masing-masing untuk mengoptimum manfaat daripada sektor ekonomi.

Presiden itu juga menegaskan bahawa persahabatan China-Malaysia bukan hanya berdasarkan kepentingan bersama malah ketika mengharungi detik sukar.

Beliau turut mengingati kerjasama kedua-dua negara berikutan krisis kewangan pada 1997 dan 2008 serta bantuan Malaysia kepada rakyat China selepas gempa bumi dahsyat di Sichuan pada 2008. 

"Kedua-dua negara terbukti adalah jiran yang baik, sahabat sejati serta rakan kongsi yang sentiasa bersama-sama ketika susah dan senang.

"Kami tidak pernah melupakan bantuan serta sumbangan rakyat Malaysia. Kami amat tersentuh dan juga tidak pernah melupakan tindakan seorang lelaki rakyat Malaysia yang mendermakan sel stem beliau demi menyelamatkan seorang remaja lelaki berusia 12 tahun dari China pada 2012," katanya.

Xi turut mempelawa Najib ke Beijing pada tahun depan sempena ulang tahun ke-40 kewujudan hubungan dua hala China dan Malaysia.

Ini adalah lawatan sulung Xi ke Malaysia selepas memegang jawatan presiden pada Mac 2013. - Bernama, 5 Oktober, 2013.
