PUTRAJAYA, 9 April (Bernama ) - Program Latihan Kemahiran Belia India

menawarkan 3,200 tempat untuk pelajar India melanjutkan pendidikan kemahiran dan

teknikal di lima institusi kemahiran di negara ini.

Menteri Sumber Manusia Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam berkata program yang

diumumkan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak semasa ucapan Belanjawan

2013, merupakan usaha kerajaan untuk memastikan golongan belia India memperoleh

akses pendidikan kemahiran dan teknikal dengan lebih teratur dan inklusif ke

arah meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat India di negara ini.

"Kerajaan memperuntukkan RM50 juta untuk program khas ini bagi melatih 3,200

pelajar India memperlengkap mereka dengan kemahiran, selaras dengan permintaan

pasaran pekerjaan.

"Kerajaan berharap program ini akan meningkatkan tahap kemahiran kepada

pelajar India yang miskin yang memperoleh keputusan kurang memuaskan dalam

peperiksaan untuk mendapat peluang pekerjaan dan meningkatkan pendapatan,"

katanya pada sidang media di sini hari ini.

Beliau menambah program ini merupakan usaha kerajaan untuk menyelesaikan

masalah sosial dalam kalangan remaja India khasnya mereka yang tidak mendapat

kelulusan yang memuaskan dalam peperiksaan.

INDIA-LATIHAN 2 (AKHIR) PUTRAJAYA

Subramaniam berkata lima insitutisi yang dikenal pasti untuk menerajui

pelaksanaan program itu ialah Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP), Pusat

Latihan Teknologi Tinggi (ADTEC), Institut Teknikal Jepun-Malaysia (JMTI) di

bawah Kementerian Sumber Manusia, Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN) di

bawah Kementerian Belia dan Sukan serta Kolej Komuniti di bawah Kementerian

Pengajian Tinggi.

Beliau berkata kursus-kursus yang dipilih berdasarkan permintaan tinggi dan

lebih peluang pekerjaan dan antaranya termasuk kimpalan, elektrik, elektronik,

automatif, membaiki penghawa dingin, teknologi binaan bangunan, teknologi

mikroelektronik, penyelenggaraan motosikal, dan kejuruteraan telekomunikasi.

"Kemasukkan pertama program ini ialah pada sesi Julai tahun ini.

"Segala kos termasuk kos pengajian, penginapan asrama, elaun latihan

industri, elaun sara hidup, perlindungan insurans kemalangan sepanjang pengajian

dan bayaran Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia akan ditanggung sepenuhnya oleh kerajaan,"

katanya.

Subramaniam berkata program ini agak unik kerana pemantauan berterusan

selama tiga tahun akan diadakan untuk memastikan pelajar menamatkan kursus dan

penempatan pekerjaan bagi pelajar yang layak.

Katanya pelajar lepasan Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Penilaian Menengah

Rendah (PMR) dan Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) yang berumur 17 hingga

35 tahun boleh memohon dengan mengisi borang yang diiklankan dalam surat khabar

atau secara dalam talian.

"Permohonan boleh dibuat dalam tempoh dua minggu lagi," katanya.
