Proton Saga SV launched!

Proton has launched its new variant of the ever popular Proton Saga. It comes with the same Campro engine found in the Saga FLX along with its features making it great value for the money.

The Proton Saga is our national carmaker’s most popular model to date. Now, Proton has released its cheapest variant of the Saga currently on sale, called the Proton Saga SV. The letters SV is an abbreviation for the words Super Value. This is appropriate considering that manual variant is priced about RM5, 000.00 cheaper than the standard Saga 1.3 MT.

The Saga SV was unveiled at Proton Edar’s Platinum Showroom in Mutiara Damansara by Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar, Hisham Othman. During his speech, Hisham said, “The Saga SV is a manifestation of Proton’s commitment to provide Malaysians with exceptional value for money attributes that include enhanced safety features, better quality, practicality, style and affordability in ownership.”

The car is powered by the same 1.3-litre Campro IAFM engine found in the Saga FLX and is available with either a manual or CVT automatic transmission. It comes fitted with 13-inch steel wheels, CD player, power steering, indicator signals integrated with the side mirror, dual airbags, pretensioner seatbelts, child restraint anchorage and an immobiliser. Sadly the Saga SV doesn’t come with electric adjustable side mirrors instead owners will have to make do with manual adjustable ones.

The manual car has a starting price of RM33,438 and the CVT variant starts at RM36,438. Proton is offering it with six choice of colours, which are Solid White, Elegant Brown, Tranquillity Black, Genetic Silver, Fire Red and Blue Rock.
