KUALA LUMPUR, 13 Nov (Bernama) -- Syarikat pemegang pelaburan, Puncak Niaga

Holdings Bhd, akan menyumbang lima alat penapis air kepada Filipina untuk

membantu mangsa Taufan Haiyan.

Pengarah urusan, Datuk Syed Danial Syed Ariffin, berkata, alat itu yang

dipanggil 'Jernih' akan membantu kira-kira 2,500 mangsa.

"Dengan bantuan Kementerian Pertahanan, Jernih akan dihantar kepada mangsa

dengan segera supaya mereka boleh mendapat air yang selamat dan bersih," katanya

kepada pemberita ketika ditemui di luar Forum Inovasi Dunia 2013 (WIF 2013) di

sini hari ini.

Produk inovatif dibangunkan bersama oleh syarikat itu dan Angkatan Tentera

Malaysia berikutan misi kemanusiaan ke Bamian di Afghanistan pada 2011.

Sempena WIF 2013 itu, syarikat itu mengambil peluang ini untuk mempamerkan

produk inovatif.

Syed Danial berkata beliau yakin peranti itu akan mendapat sambutan baik

tempatan dan luar negara, terutamanya daripada agensi kerajaan, organisasi bukan

kerajaan, pihak berkuasa tempatan dan firma perladangan.

"Kami menerima sambutan baik daripada Kemboja, India dan Swaziland dan kami

menjangka menjual kira-kira 100 unit di pasaran tempatan menjelang akhir 2014,"

katanya.

Jernih mudah untuk dihantar dan dipasang dan boleh merawat kira-kira 3,000

liter air sehari untuk menampung keperluan kira-kira 500 individu.
