MIRI, 12 Jun (Bernama) -- Calon PKR Roland Engan, yang kalah bagi kerusi

Parlimen Baram pada Pilihan Raya Umum ke-13 (PRU13) 5 Mei lepas, hari ini

memfailkan petisyen di Mahkamah Tinggi di sini untuk membatalkan keputusan bagi

kerusi itu.

Pada PRU13, beliau kalah kepada calon muka baharu Barisan Nasional (BN) Anyi

Ngau, iaitu bekas Pegawai Daerah Limbang dan juga bapa saudaranya dalam

pertandingan tiga penjuru dengan majoriti 194 undi.

Roland memperoleh 8,988 undi berbanding 9,182 undi oleh Anyi manakala calon

Bebas Patrick Sibat Sujang hanya memperoleh 363 undi dan hilang wang deposit.

Dalam petisyennya, Roland menamakan Anyi sebagai responden pertama dan

Pegawai Pengurus Pilihan Raya Joseph Belayong Punan sebagai responden kedua.

Beliau memberi alasan mendakwa amalan rasuah dalam tempoh berkempen,

kegagalan mematuhi undang-undang pilihan raya oleh responden dan keputusan undi

pos dipersoalkan.

MAHKAMAH-PETISYEN (BARAM) 2 (AKHIR) MIRI

Hari ini merupakan hari terakhir bagi parti politik atau individu memfailkan

petisyen pilihan raya selepas Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR) mewartakan

keputusan PRU13 pada 22 Mei lepas.

Pada sidang media kemudian, Pengerusi PKR Sawarak, Baru Bian berkata

petisyen tersebut merupakan satu-satunya petisyen pilihan raya difailkan oleh

pembangkang di negeri itu.

Pada PRU13, BN Sarawak memenangi 25 daripada 31 kerusi Parlimen di negeri

itu.

Semalam, BN turut memfailkan petisyen pilihan raya bagi kerusi Parlimen

Sarikei, iaitu petisyen tunggal difailkan oleh BN di Sarawak.
