KOTA KINABALU, 3 Ogos (Bernama) -- Sabah akan memiliki taman asuhan (taska)

untuk kanak-kanak kurang upaya menjelang hujung tahun ini, yang merupakan antara

enam taska seumpama diwujudkan di seluruh negara.

Timbalan Menteri Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat Datuk Azizah

Mohd Dun berkata selain Sabah, kerajaan mewujudkan taska itu di Kuala Lumpur,

Pulau Pinang, Perak, Putrajaya dan Sarawak dengan peruntukan RM500,000

masing-masing.

Penubuhan taska di Sabah ini adalah hasil kerjasama dengan badan bukan

kerajaan dan bagi tujuan itu kerja menaik taraf dan mengubah suai Cheshire Home

Likas sedang dilakukan, katanya kepada pemberita selepas Program Kar1sma

Ramadan, di sini malam tadi.

Menurut Azizah, keistimewaan taska itu ialah hanya menempatkan maksimum 30

kanak-kanak dan mempunyai pengasuh yang berkelayakan menjaga kanak-kanak kurang

upaya.

Sementara itu, mengulas cadangan Persatuan Kebajikan dan Pendidikan

Kadazandusun Murut Sabah (Pekadin) agar Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita Persekutuan

diwujudkan di Sabah, beliau berkata perkara itu memerlukan perbincangan antara

kerajaan pusat dan negeri.

"Kita sedia maklum di Sabah sudah ada Jabatan Hal Ehwal Wanita yang

telah melaksanakan tanggungjawab sebaik-baiknya.

"Sekiranya mahu diwujudkan Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita (JPW) di Sabah

bukanlah untuk bersaing atau berlaku pertindihan tugas tetapi adalah untuk

menambah baik dan memperkukuhkan institusi yang sedia ada," katanya.

Pada program itu sebanyak 200 golongan yang memerlukan termasuk anak yatim,

ibu tunggal, warga emas dan saudara baharu menerima sumbangan daripada

kementerian.
