All-new Sante Fe launched

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors launched the all-new Inokom Sante Fe today.

The seven seater mid-sized SUV incorporates the Hyundai Family look of hexagonal grille, sporty front and back bumper skin plate, wide panoramic sunroof, HID headlamps and LED rear spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp.

The design has won numerous awards including the Australian International Design Awards 2013 and the Good Design Awards 2013 by the Chicago Anthenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design in the United States.

The new Santa Fe is longer and wider than its predecessor with more leg and headroom for the driver and passengers. The driver's seat can be electrically adjusted 12 ways to maximise comfort. The second row can be slid back or forward for added convenience. It can also be reclined and split-folded in a 4:2:4 ratio with a remote folding feature for extra carrying capacity in addition to the 585 litre boot.

Convenient storage features include an overhead console sunglass holder, cup holders, door bottle holder, large central storage console, front storage bin, an innovative cargo under tray and floor board storage. There are also pull-out cup holders in the rear seat armrests. State of the art air-conditioning offers dual full automatic air conditioning systems, with ventilation ducts for the second/third row.

There are a choice of two engines – the Theta II 2.4 MPI or the R2.2 CRDi. The MultiPoint Fuel Injection 2.4l four-cylinder engine delivers 172bhp and up to 227 Nm of torque. The 2.2 CRDi diesel engine delivers 193bhp and 436Nm of torque. There are two trim levels for both the petrol and diesel variants.

Transmission for all engine variants is Hyundai’s six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® manual control. In addition, there is an ECO function for better fuel economy.

A 4WD Lock switch locks the 4WD system into a fixed 50/50 power distribution for the front and rear wheels when speed is below 40 km/h. It automatically switches to Auto 4WD above 40km/h.

The new Santa Fe features a state-of-the-art safety system including Active On-Demand 4-Wheel Drive System, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, Hillstart Assist Control (HAC), Downhill Brake Control (DBC) and the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with an Automatic Vehicle Hold feature. The EPB prevents the vehicle from sliding back on an incline even after the brake pedal is released. The braking function is cancelled when the accelerator pedal is applied.

Prices in West Malaysia start from RM163,888 for the Theta II 2.4 Elegance and goes up to RM189,888 for the R 2.23 VGT Executive Plus, both prices inclusive of insurance and road tax. For more details contact the Hyundai Customer Careline at 1-300-13-2000.
