Seongnam Ilhwa players gave 120 per cent, says coach Shin Tae-Yong

Seongnam Ilhwa coach Shin Tae-Yong has hailed his players for a committed performance as they routed A-League premiers Central Coast 5-0 in the AFC Champions League on Wednesday.

The Korean outfit moved into top spot in Group G on goal difference thanks to the big win which was inspired by Brazilian striker Everton Santos, who scored twice and provided an assist.

"I am very happy," Shin told reporters after the game.

"The players were tired, but they followed the instructions I gave them before the match and gave 120 per cent."

The former Brisbane Roar player added he felt his side's good continental form could translate domestically where they currently sit 11th.

"If they play like they did today in the K-League, it will be better and our position will improve," he said.

"In the last two games in the K-League we have won without conceding a goal and I think this had a positive effect."
