KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 (Bernama) -- Women, Family and Community Development

Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, who is one of the

ministers-in-waiting for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak during his

official to Kazakhstan, today confirmed that no wedding of the prime minister''s

daughter had taken place in the country.

She also described the allegation made by certain quarters that the prime

minister and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, had attended the wedding during

the visit, as a lie and was politically-motivated.

Shahrizat, in a statement here today, said Najib''s schedule in Kazakhstan

was very tight and in all events, he was accompanied by top government officers

from both countries.

"The prime minister''s visit has successfully strengthened the ties between

the two stable and peaceful Islamic countries.

"Maybe the opposition was jealous with the success of the visit and that was

why they were telling this horrible lie," said Shahrizat, who is also the

minister-in-waiting for Najib during the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) in

Kazakhstan.
