PETALING JAYA: The Residences at Putra Heights, Selangor, a luxury development by Sime Darby Property Bhd, was selected the Best Villa Development in Malaysia at the 2012 South East Asia Property Awards recently.

“This award is yet another affirmation of Sime Darby Property’s commitment towards developing innovative and high quality properties that embrace sustainability,” said Sime Darby Property managing director Datuk Abd Wahab Maskan. Sime Darby Property is the property arm of Sime Darby Bhd.

The Residences is a luxury development consisting of 80 bungalows, with each unit spanning an impressive land area of between 5,800 sq ft and 9,500 sq ft — priced from RM3.89 million onwards.

Boasting a concept described as “tropically inspired with a contemporary twist”, all homes come with an individual swimming pool, a rooftop terrace and private elevator.

Each unit is unique in design and is specifically designed to maximise natural lighting and ventilation. Other green building elements include tinted windows for heat reduction, rainwater harvesting system and a centralised waste management system.

Putra Heights is spread over 1,796 acres (726.8ha) of freehold land, which has townships such as UEP Subang Jaya (USJ), Puchong and Shah Alam as neighbours. The township, which is accessible via the Damansara-Puchong Highway, Jalan Petaling in Shah Alam, and the ELITE Highway, was launched in 1999 and is set to be completed in 2016.

The South East Asia Property Awards recognise and celebrate contributions from developers, agents, architects and designers from all the major property markets in the region such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam.

The event was organised by Ensign Media (Singapore) Pte Ltd, publishers of Property Report South East Asia, and audited by BDO, a member of BDO International Ltd.

The panel of judges consisted of highly reputable individuals from the real estate and related industries across the region.
