27 Jun – Recently, it was revealed that girl group SISTAR has been selected as the new honorary ambassador for Visit Korea Committee's annual "K-Pop Cover Dance Festival" replacing the KARA members that were appointed last year.
According to Kpopstarz website, the group enthused, "To be next in line after KARA, we feel so proud. We'll try our best to promote K-Pop overseas."
The four members of SISTAR will be officially inaugurated in a ceremony in an event held at the Press Centre in Seoul, South Korea.
The "K-Pop Cover Dance Festival" has attracted more than 700 acts from around the world. Contestants join the dance festival by uploading their video clips to the committee's official page. The acts that make it to the first round of the competition will battle against other teams in their regions and the finalists will then be invited to participate in the festival in September, which is held in Gyeongju.
After their officiation, SISTAR will pay visits to selected countries and will serve as judges in the second round of auditions.
