Kenaikan harga barang bukan berpunca daripada kerajaan tetapi sebaliknya adalah kerana tauke besar Cina yang membuat konspirasi dengan pembangkang Pakatan Rakyat (PR), kata pemimpin Umno Pendang.

Dalam ceramah berkelompok di pusat daerah mengundi Ulu Sedaka pada hari pertama berkempen Pilihan Raya Kecil (PRK) Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Sungai Limau, Pengerusi Tetap Umno Pendang, Fuzin Hamid menyalahkan masyarakat Cina kerana kenaikan harga barang yang berlaku.

"Harga barang naik ni, siapa tauke besar di belakang semua ini? Orang Cina kebanyakannya yang sokong pembangkang, jadi hendak jatuhkan kerajaan BN mereka buat rakyat marah. Bila rakyat marah, mereka nak tumbangkan kerajaan.

"Ini adalah satu konspirasi," katanya kepada kira-kira 30 penduduk setempat yang hadir ketika ceramah tersebut.

Fuzin juga mempersoalkan kejujuran PR yang menyalahkan kerajaan apabila berlaku barang naik, tetapi tidak pula membuat bising semasa harga rokok naik baru-baru ini.

"2 kupang (20 sen) kita marah sebab harga barang naik. Semasa pemerintahan PAS, harga air naik 100 peratus tak bising, harga rokok naik tak bising," katanya.

Beliau berkata, kenaikan harga minyak sebanyak 20 sen baru-baru ini adalah bertujuan membantu rakyat khususnya luar bandar dengan menggantikannya menerusi pemberian Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia.

"Kalau kita tahu menilai, kerajaan BN benar-benar pentingkan rakyat.

"Kerajaan tarik 2 kupang (20 sen) sebab hendak tambah BR1M. Yang dua kupang tu nak bagi kat BR1M, sebenarnya harga minyak tak naik cuma kurangkan subsidi," katanya.

Bulan lalu, Putrjaya mengambil langkah menaikkan harga minyak sebanyak 20 sen bagi petrol RON95 menjadi RM2.10 seliter manakala diesel kepada RM2 seliter dan memberi alasan ia boleh menjimatkan kerajaan sebanyak RM3.3 bilion setahun.

Susula langkah itu, kadar inflasi Malaysia dijangka meningkat kepada 2.3% tahun ini selepas kenaikan tersebut, kata pakar ekonomi Putrajaya, Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar.

PR dijangka menggunakan isu kenaikan harga minyak yang menyumbang kepada peningkatan mendadak harga barang dalam PRK di Sungai Limau.
