MELAKA, 30 Okt (Bernama) -- Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) mensasarkan agihan

zakat pendidikan berjumlah RM1.15 juta kepada 2,300 pelajar miskin dan kurang

berkemampuan di seluruh negara menjelang akhir tahun ini.

Ketua Pegawai Operasinya Datuk Kamarudin Mat Ali berkata pengagihan zakat

di bawah projek pendidikan yang bermula 22 Okt lepas itu bertujuan sebagai

motivasi kepada pelajar untuk berjaya dalam pelajaran selain meringankan beban

perbelanjaan persekolahan mereka.

"Pengagihan zakat pendidikan ini juga tanda keprihatinan dan pemberian

semula TH kepada kumpulan berkepentingan untuk pembangunan serta kelestarian

masyarakat khususnya komuniti Islam yang memerlukan," katanya kepada pemberita

selepas menyampaikan sumbangan zakat pendidikan berjumlah RM100,000 di Sekolah

Menengah Munsyi Abdullah di sini, hari ini.

Seramai 200 pelajar sekolah rendah dan menengah yang miskin dan kurang

berkemampuan di seluruh Melaka menerima wang tunai berjumlah RM300 serta

peralatan persekolahan bernilai RM200 setiap seorang.

Kamarudin berkata negeri Melaka merupakan negeri kedua penerima sumbangan

zakat pendidikan selepas Johor.

Sementara itu, beliau berkata TH merancang mengadakan beberapa program

tanggungjawab sosial korporat termasuk ''Projek Bumbung'' yang melibatkan

pengagihan zakat untuk pembinaan rumah bagi membantu golongan asnaf di negara

ini.

Beliau berkata pihaknya turut memberikan sumbangan mesin hemodialisis di

hospital kerajaan untuk kegunaan pesakit buah pinggang di bawah Projek

Kesihatan.

Di KUALA LUMPUR, seramai 200 pelajar dari 43 sekolah sekitar Wilayah

Persekutuan hari ini menerima bantuan pendidikan berjumlah RM100,000 daripada

TH.

Ketua Pegawai Kewangan Kumpulan TH Rozaida Omar berkata setiap pelajar

menerima sumbangan zakat pendidikan sejumlah RM500 yang berupa kelengkapan

persekolahan bernilai RM200 dan wang tunai RM300.

"Sumbangan ini diharap dapat membantu meringankan tanggungan keluarga yang

memerlukan dan dalam masa sama kami dapat pastikan bantuan zakat perniagaan

syarikat dapat diagih dan disalur dengan telus tanpa melalui pihak ketiga,"

katanya ketika merasmikan majlis Penyampaian Sumbangan Pendidikan Tabung Haji

2012 Peringkat Wilayah Persekutuan di sini, hari ini.
