SEPANG, 5 Jan (Bernama) -- Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak hari ini mengumumkan pelaksanaan ''Program Integrasi 1Malaysia'' bersama Air Asia, yang menyaksikan tawaran penerbangan percuma oleh syarikat penerbangan itu bagi laluan antara Sabah, Sarawak dan Semenanjung, untuk satu tempoh tertentu.

Katanya beliau hadir bagi melancarkan reka bentuk ''livery'' khas pesawat 1Malaysia sempena program integrasi itu di terminal LCCT di sini pagi ini kerana amat tertarik dengan apa jua usaha untuk memupuk integrasi dan perpaduan nasional.

Najib berkata inisiatif Air Asia yang berpaksikan konsep gagasan 1Malaysia yang diilhamkan beliau itu pasti akan dapat ''mendekatkan'' lagi Sabah dan Sarawak dengan semenanjung.

"Saya lihat konsep 1Malaysia ini sebagai satu konsep yang cukup bermakna dan boleh membawa negara ke tahap mercu kejayaan yang kita impikan," katanya ketika berucap pada majlis pelancaran ''livery'' khas pesawat Airbus A320 itu di terminal LCCT di sini.

Beliau berkata konsep itu menekankan kepada soal ''inklusif'' dalam setiap usaha yang digerakkan kerajaan, kerana kerajaan sedar potensi negara boleh direalisasi jika semua pihak dapat bergerak dan bertindak sebagai satu komuniti, iaitu warga Malaysia.

Difahamkan butir-butir lebih lanjut mengenai tempoh serta perincian mengenai pengisian ''Program Integrasi 1Malaysia'' bersama Air Asia itu akan diumum syarikat penerbangan berkenaan minggu depan.

Perdana menteri dan isteri Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor kemudian menaiki pesawat itu bersama beberapa pemimpin komuniti yang didatangkan khas dari Sabah dan Sarawak untuk program hari ini serta sekumpulan wartawan, berlepas menuju ke Kuantan.

Najib berkata selain sokongan kepada program integrasi itu, kehadirannya bertujuan memberi pengiktirafan kepada Air Asia sebagai sebuah syarikat penerbangan yang berjaya menampilkan diri sebagai satu jenama yang sangat terkenal di persada antarabangsa.

Beliau berkata bermula dengan hanya dua pesawat usang kira-kira 11 tahun lepas, ia kini mempunyai lebih 146 pesawat, dan akan mencapai lebih 300 pesawat tidak lama lagi.

Seramai 20 pekerja mengambil masa kira-kira 12 hari menggunakan 121 tin cat untuk menyediakan ''Livery'' pesawat 1Malaysia pada pesawat Airbus A320 yang berkapasiti 180 penumpang itu.

Pesawat itu akan diguna di laluan operasi Air Asia Berhad, yang meliputi lebih 70 destinasi di 20 negara, membawa pengalaman 1Malaysia kepada masyarakat seluruh dunia.
