PETALING JAYA, 14 April (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak berkata

kerajaan Barisan Nasional (BN) sentiasa memastikan tiada komuniti, termasuk

golongan minorti dipinggirkan daripada program pembangunan negara.

Perdana Menteri berkata kerajaan di bawah pentadbirannya juga sentiasa

memberi peluang kepada setiap rakyat untuk berjaya walaupun mereka adalah dari

kalangan masyarakat minoriti.

" Sejak dilantik menjadi perdana menteri, saya cuba pastikan tiada komuniti

sama ada kecil atau besar akan terpinggir dan kehadiran saya ke Gurdwara Sahib

ini membuktikan saya buat apa yang dicakap atau walk the talk," katanya pada

majlis sambutan Hari Vaisakhi atau Tahun Baharu masyarakat Sikh di Gurdwara

Sahib di sini hari ini.

Turut hadir isterinya, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, menteri-menteri di Jabatan

Perdana Menteri Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon dan Datuk Seri G. Palanivel dan Presiden

Gurdwara Sahib Harbhajan Kaur.

Najib berkata kejayaan beberapa individu dari kalangan masyarakat Sikh yang

menjawat jawatan penting dalam kerajaan, seperti Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian

Kerja Raya Datuk Himmat Singh, Pengerusi Suruhanjaya Sekuriti (SC) Malaysia

Datuk Ranjit Ajit Singh dan Timbalan Ketua Polis Kuala Lumpur Datuk Amar Singh

Ishar Singh adalah antara bukti, kerajaan tidak pernah meminggirkan mana-mana

kaum.

NAJIB-SIKH 2 PETALING JAYA

Perdana Menteri berkata kerajaan juga sejak tahun 2008 sehingga kini telah

menyalurkan dana sebanyak RM21 juta kepada badan-badan bukan kerajaan yang

mewakili kaum Sikh di seluruh negara.

Najib berkata sejak mengambil alih teraju kerajaan, beliau dan anggota

kabinet berusaha memenuhi keperluan masyarakat dan bagi mendapatkan kepercayaan

mereka untuk bekerjasama memastikan kejayaan program transformasi.

"Kita telah mewujudkan apa yang saya panggil sebagai keyakinan dari

masyarakat Sikh..kepercayaan dengan apa yang kami wujudkan dan saya amat yakin,

kita akan meneruskan dengan kepercayaan ini.

Beliau berkata kemajuan dan pembangunan yang dibawa kerajaan kepada

masyarakat Sikh memberikan keyakinan dalam kalangan masyarakat itu untuk terus

menyokong kerajaan.

Najib berkata sokongan ini akan membawa kepada pengukuhan sebuah masyarakat

yang pelbagai, sekaligus memberi kesejahteraan kepada setiap kaum.

NAJIB-SIKH 3 (AKHIR) PETALING JAYA

Pada majlis itu, Perdana Menteri turut mengumumkan peruntukan RM3.8 juta

kepada 10 badan bukan kerajaan mewakili kaum Sikh antaranya Majlis Gurdwara

Malaysia, Pertubuhan Sikh Naujawan Sabha dan Pertubuhan Jaringan Kesedaran

Wanita Sikh Malaysia termasuk kepada Gurdwara Sahib Pataling Jaya, Subang dan

Shah Alam Selangor serta Bayan Baru, Pulau Pinang.

Terdahulu, ketibaan Najib yang berbaju putih dan bersongkok hitam bersama

isteri diberi sambutan meriah sebelum dibawa menikmati sarapan pagi dengan

pelbagai juadah tradisi kaum Sikh seperti samosa, jalebi dan barfi.

Ini merupakan kali kelima Najib meluangkan masa meraikan Vaisakhi dengan

masyarakat Sikh.

Pertama kali di Gurdwara Kampung Baharu pada 2009, diikuti Ipoh dan

Dataran Merdeka tahun lepas dan tahun sebelumnya.
