MUAR, 30 Ogos (Bernama) -- Umno Bakri menjadi bahagian pertama parti itu di

negara ini yang menubuhkan sebuah koperasi untuk kebajikan anggota dan bahagian

itu sendiri.

Ketua Umno bahagian itu, Datuk Seri Saipolbahri Shuib berkata Koperasi

Pembangunan Melayu Bersatu Berhad itu, yang membuka keahlian kepada 21,000

anggota Umno di bahagian berkenaan, diwujud sejak dua bulan lepas dengan sasaran

mengumpul dana sebanyak RM21 juta.

"Setiap ahli kita galakkan melabur RM1,000 seorang dan jika ini berjaya,

bahagian Bakri akan menerajui usaha mempertingkat pendapatan anggota Umno di

negara ini dan bakal menjadi contoh kepada bahagian lain," katanya selepas

menyerahkan zakat Pertubuhan Peladang Kebangsaan (NAFAS) kepada 100 penerima di

pekarangan Pejabat Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan Parlimen Bakri hari ini.

Saipolbahri, yang juga Pengerusi NAFAS, berkata penubuhan koperasi berkenaan

bertujuan menjadikan Bakri satu bahagian yang berdikari selain menambah

pendapatan ahli Umno setiap tahun melalui pelaburan mereka.

"Sebelum ini, Umno bahagian hanya bergantung kepada peruntukan RM200,000

setahun daripada Umno pusat setiap tahun, dan selepas ini bahagian Bakri akan

berupaya berdikari untuk menjalankan aktivitinya," kata beliau.

UMNO-KOPERASI 2 (AKHIR) MUAR

Saipolbahri berkata koperasi itu akan diurus secara profesional oleh mereka

yang layak bagi memastikan pengurusannya berjalan lancar.

Dalam perkembangan lain, beliau berkata pengambilan pertama kumpulan pelajar

Universiti Peladang akan bermula pada Januari depan, melibatkan antara 400

dan 500 orang.

Katanya, pada peringkat awal, universiti itu menawarkan 13 jurusan pengajian

termasuk bidang pertanian moden peringkat diploma, dan pelajar akan ditempatkan

di kampus sementara Kolej Sunway di Shah Alam.

Saipolbahri berkata NAFAS sudah mengemukakan permohonan bagi menjadikan

tanah seluas 360 hektar milik Pertubuhan Peladang Negeri Johor di Batu 13, Air

Hitam di sini sebagai kampus induk universiti berkenaan.

"Jika permohonan itu diluluskan, kampus yang menelan belanja antara RM400

hingga RM500 juta akan dibina di tapak berkenaan.

"Apabila terbina kelak, ia akan memberi peluang kepada anak ahli pertubuhan

peladang di negara ini melanjutkan pengajian mereka dalam bidang pembangunan

pertanian dan lain-lain," katanya.
