melancarkan pakej pelancongan dikenali sebagai ''Mother Nature Tour Trail''

bersempena Kempen Promosi Tahun Malawat Malaysia (VMY) 2014 di Bukit Jalil di


Pelancaran itu menjadikan UPM universiti pertama di Malaysia yang menawarkan

pakej pelancongan bagi membolehkan pelancong meneroka persekitaran semula jadi

yang luas terbentang di sekitar kampusnya di Serdang.

Timbalan Naib Canselor (Penyelidikan dan Inovasi) UPM Prof. Datuk Ir Dr.

Mohd Salleh Jaafar berkata pakej yang dilancarkan itu berbeza dengan pakej sedia

ada di pasaran.

"Tujuh lokasi dipilih secara khusus untuk pakej ini, yang menawarkan lawatan

setengah hari hingga tiga hari dua malam, bergantung pada pakej yang dipilih,"

katanya kepada pemberita.

Beliau berkata pakej berkenaan berharga antara RM99 hingga RM370 seorang dan

akan dipromosi tiga ejen pelancongan -- TM Tours and Travel, Mitra Kembara dan

Poto Travel and Tours.



Sementara itu Menteri Pelancongan Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen, yang melancarkan

pakej pelancongan itu, berkata langkah melatih 30 pelajar UPM untuk

mengendalikan pakej berkenaan memberi pendedahan kepada mereka tentang dunia

industri pelancongan sebenar.

"Pakej pelancongan ini yang merupakan usaha sama antara UPM dan Kementerian

Pelancongan serta Tourism Malaysia, menghidangkan kepada pelancong persekitaran

semula jadi universiti ini seluas 3,900 ekar yang kaya dengan flora dan fauna.

"Apa saja yang boleh anda temui di hutan tropika, anda boleh temui di UPM,

daripada air terjunnya yang cantik, beribu-ribu spesies flora dan fauna,

bukit-bukau yang indah dan landskap menarik, yang semuanya tersedia untuk

diterokai," kata beliau.

Sementara itu, keluarga pertama yang mendaftar untuk pakej pelancongan itu

pada karnival kempen VMY 2014 esok akan mendapat hadiah istimewa daripada

kementerian berkenaan.
