Utusan says MB heads to roll in two states

Two states will see a change of Menteri Besar, claimed Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia today, although it did not name them.

"Apparently, two Menteris Besar are expected to be replaced soon. Speculation on this has started, akin to the gentle evening winds along the beach,” Awang Selamat, the pseudonym for Utusan's collective editorial voice, wrote in its weekend edition, Mingguan Malaysia.

"There is no need for Awang to mention who are the Menteris Besar at this stage, let it continue to be speculated.”

The paper claimed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak already had a list of candidates to fill the shoes of the two outgoing MBs.

Awang Selamat said a change in the states' administration was needed not only after an election to "inject freshness in some states' administration".

Utusan also hoped that changes would also take place in Umno.

"Many hoped that the prime minister, who is also Umno president, will unveil new faces in a few posts within the party". – April 20, 2014.
