Children Among Victims of Deadly Russian Strikes on Kharkiv Homes

At least one person was killed and 19 were injured, including four children, after Russian forces shelled apartment buildings in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on Wednesday, March 27, according to Ukrainian officials.

The youngest victim was three months old and the other wounded children were aged 13, 9, and 2, according to Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

A man walking in the street was killed by a strike, police said.

In a statement, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, “Russian terror against the city is becoming increasingly heinous.” He urged Ukraine’s Western allies to speed up the delivery of F-16 fighter jets and increase deliveries of Patriot missiles.

“There are no rational explanations for why Patriots, which are plentiful around the world, are still not covering the skies of Kharkiv and other cities and communities under attack by Russian terrorists,” Zelensky said.
