Deliveroo Rider Stabbed While Fighting Off Knife-Wielding Mugger

A Deliveroo rider was stabbed in the abdomen while desperately trying to fight off a knife-wielding robber, in north London, as seen in CCTV footage released on March 28.

Nineteen-year-old Lewis Livingston from Enfield, was handed a six-and-a-half-year sentence, after pleading guilty to attempted robbery and possession of a bladed article, the Metropolitan Police said in a press statement.

The footage from July 1 2023 shows Livingston running into the road before unsheathing a large blade and slashing wildly at the victim, in broad daylight.

Livingston then mounts the bike to get away, when the victim tackles the robber, wrestling with him on the ground, as onlookers start to gather around.

Police detailed that the victim was given first aid at the scene, before being transported to hospital, where his injuries were as “not life-threatening or life-changing.”

“I believe this man was going to kill me, had the people not come to my rescue," the victim told police in an impact statement, adding “I am still not over the shock and fear."

“The victim continues to suffer with the physical and psychological impact of this incident. He was going about his day, having just bought some food, when he was thrust into a terrible ordeal," Investigating officer Detective Constable James Hunt, said.

“I know he is incredibly grateful to the people who came to his aid. Were it not for their bravery, this incident could potentially have been far worse," Hunt added. Credit: Metropolitan Police via Storyful
