Ducklings Rescued From Drain in Salt Lake City

Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) staff rescued eight ducklings from a drain in Salt Lake City, as seen in footage released on Wednesday, May 25.

The department said its Incident Management Team was called to the scene on State Route 201 and used a truck to lift the drain’s grate so workers could remove the ducklings.

Video posted to the department’s Facebook page shows a staff member, Megan, carrying the ducklings in a bucket after she got them out of trouble. She returned them to their parents in a nearby pond, UDOT said.

“Some good news we definitely needed,” UDOT said, thanking Utah Highway Patrol for its assistance. Credit: Utah Department of Transportation via Storyful
