Rochester Gas Station Pump Bursts Into Flames After Struck by Teen Driver

An 18-year-old man was arrested after admitting to starting a fire at a gas station pump when “trying to do a burnout” in Rochester, New York, on Sunday, December 4, according to the Gates Police Department.

Security footage posted by the Gates Police Department, which they said was captured in the early morning hours of Sunday, shows the flames spewing after the car hits a gas pump in nearby Rochester and drives away.

Police said they used the security video and witness statements to connect the vehicle to Ryan Odell from Ogden. Authorities said that Odell was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident after admitting to his actions.
