Satellite Imagery Shows Hurricane Ian's Path From Caribbean to Southeast US

CIRA shared a timelapse of satellite imagery on Friday, October 7, showing Hurricane Ian traveling from “the Caribbean, through the Gulf of Mexico, and into the Southeast US.”

The storm formed over the Caribbean Sea on Friday, September 23, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The National Weather Service issued the final alert for the Ian storm system on Sunday, October 2, after the storm passed through the southeast region of the US.

Satellite imagery posted by CIRA on Friday shows the deadly storm’s journey through the Atlantic Ocean.
