KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Julai (Bernama) -- Wakaf Selangor Muamalat (WSM), sebuah

usaha sama antara Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd dan Perbadanan Wakaf Selangor

(PWS), merancang untuk membangunkan sebuah hospital wakaf dalam dua hingga tiga

tahun akan datang.

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Bank Muamalat, Datuk Mohd Redza Shah Abdul Wahid,

berkata melaksanakan projek wakaf seperti sekolah dan hospital memerlukan dana

yang lebih besar.

"Tetapi, jika kita berganding bahu, kita boleh melakukannya. Kami berharap

banyak lagi badan-badan korporat akan menyumbang kepada dana WSM. Dengan dana

wakaf yang besar, WSM akan dapat melaksanakan lebih banyak projek," katanya

dalam ucapannya pada majlis penyampaian cek kepada WSM oleh MAA Takaful di sini

hari ini.

Wakaf ialah sumbangan harta bagi tujuan amal bagi faedah orang ramai.

Dana yang dikumpul itu adalah bagi penambahbaikan dan pembangunan kesihatan

dan pendidikan mereka yang memerlukan.

Mohd Redza berkata antara projek-projek wakaf yang menunggu untuk

dilaksanakan ialah klinik bergerak wakaf bagi perkhidmatan di Kuala Selangor

yang melibatkan kos RM254,900 dan penajaan dua mesin dialisis kepada Klinik

Dialisis Nurul Ain yang menelan kos RM76,000.

Selain itu, WMS akan menaja sebuah mesin pencetak timbul untuk mencetak

Al-Quran Braille bagi Persatuan Orang Cacat Penglihatan Islam Malaysia

(Pertis) berharga RM16,000, menjadikan keseluruhannya berjumlah RM346,900.

Sebelum ini, WSM telah melaksanakan projek-projek seperti penajaan

kelengkapan perubatan kepada Hospital Sungai Buloh berharga RM37,030 dan

penajaan kelengkapan asrama kepada Sekolah Agama Wal Ulumuddin, berharga

RM43,100.

Lebih daripada RM2.1 juta telah dikumpul sejak pelancaran WSM pada September

2012.
