PUTRAJAYA, 26 Sept (Bernama) -- Wanita, sebagai golongan terpenting dalam

membina dan membangunkan institusi keluarga, perlu mempunyai pengetahuan luas

dalam bidang kepenggunaan, kata Ketua Setiausaha Negara Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.

Beliau berkata kerajaan menjalankan pelbagai program dan aktiviti berterusan

untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pendidikan kepenggunaan di kalangan rakyat,

terutama wanita agar mereka mengetahui hak dan kuasa sebagai pengguna yang

berkuasa di pasaran.

"Peranan golongan wanita dalam ekonomi sebenarnya sangat besar. Kaum wanita

bukan sahaja bertanggungjawab terhadap ekonomi keluarga malah menjadi tunjang

kepada kemajuan ekonomi negara.

"Dalam sesebuah keluarga misalnya, wanita terutama kaum ibu biasanya menjadi

perancang dan penentu perbelanjaan isi rumah. Begitu juga di pejabat di mana

golongan wanita turut dijadikan sumber rujukan dalam pelbagai perkara termasuk

aspek kepenggunaan," katanya.

Ali berkata demikian ketika berucap pada majlis penutup Seminar Pemerkasaan

Penggguna Puspanita 2013, bertemakan Wanita Pengguna Berkuasa di Pasaran, di

sini hari ini.

Beliau juga meminta golongan wanita agar memainkan peranan penting dalam

meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesedaran mengenai kepenggunaan kepada anak-anak

mereka dalam usaha melahirkan pengguna bijak.

"Sebagai ''role model'' dalam sesebuah keluarga, golongan wanita dilihat mampu

membantu dan melahirkan masyarakat yang lebih peka terhadap isu-isu kepenggunaan

sekaligus membantu meningkatkan tahap kesedaran kepenggunaan di negara ini,"

katanya.

Sementara itu, Yang Dipertua Puspanita Puan Sri Rohani Abdullah berkata

badan itu kini menjalankan pelbagai program baharu termasuk mendidik masyarakat

pengguna khususnya wanita mengenai ilmu kepenggunaan semasa.

"Sebagai pengguna, pengetahuan kepenggunaan amat penting kerana dalam

kehidupan seharian kita, kita tidak dapat lari daripada urusan jual beli.

"Di sini pengetahuan kepenggunaan amat penting bagi mengelakkan kita tertipu

dan tertindas oleh peniaga yang tidak beretika," katanya.

Menurutnya pengguna yang mempunyai asas kepenggunaan yang kukuh akan lebih

berwaspada bagi mengelakkan mereka ditipu.
