KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (Bernama) -- Several areas in Kuala Lumpur and the

districts of Petaling and Hulu Langat will experience temporary water supply

disruption early next month.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (SYABAS) corporate affairs executive

director Abdul Halem Mat Som said the disruption is due to maintenance works by

its contractors.

In a statement here today, Abdul Halem said the disruption in Petaling

district is expected to last from 8pm on July 7 to 11am the next day.

Areas which will be affected in the Petaling district are Jalan Subang

Airport Lama; SS12—SS19 Subang Jaya; U1 Temasya to Kolam Air Temasya; Saujana O

Lot to Kolam Air Saujana O Lot; Glenmarie Hicom; Glenmarie Court; PJU 1A Lembah

Subang;parts of SS7 Kelana Jaya; PJS 1—PJS 11; Guiness Anchor, PJS 6; Phase

He said the disruption is due to work to replace a 100 MM diameter

butterfly valve in the Kontena Nasional area and the replacement of 600 MM

diameter sluice valve at the New Pantai Expressway entry ramp in front of

the Mentari Court Apartments.

Apart from that, there will be work to replace the sluice valve at Jalan

PJS 2C Taman Medan ,and a butterfly valve at the junction of PJS8/9 on the LDP

exit ramp.

Abdul Halem said a disruption was also scheduled take place at Hulu Langat

from 9pm on July 9 (Monday) to 5am the next day.

The areas that will be affected are Section 1 to 5, Bandar Baru Bangi; and

Section 14 and 15, Bandar Baru Bangi; Bandar Baru Bangi Industrial area, Section

13; Kampung Teras Jernang and Taman Bangi Mutiara, Section 2.

The disruption is due to works to replace sluice valve at Section 2, Bandar

Baru Bangi, Hulu Langat," he said.



Meanwhile, Abdul Halem said on July 11 (Wednesday) from 9pm to 5am the next

day, water supply in several areas in Kuala Lumpur will also be affected

following the installation of a new butterfly valve at Jalan U-Thant in front of

the American Embassy.

The areas involved are Taman U-Thant; Jalan Ampang (from the Jalan Tun Razak

intersection to MRR2; Jalan Ampang (from the intersection of Jalan Yap Kwan

Seng to the Jalan Eaton intersection).

He said customers affected by the temporary disruptions are urged to be

patient and enquiries could be forwarded to the company''s Customer Service

Centre (PUSPEL) through toll free line 1-800-88-5252 or SMS; by typing PUSPEL

and send it to 39222.
